Researcher would like to develop Lansium Domesticum Corr. (duku) seed extract ointment to promote wound healing.

Why is it important?
The results of our study showed that ethanolic extract of Lansium domesticum Corr. seed can promote natural healing process and could be used as an alternative wound healing agent. The ointment form Lansium domesticum extract is able to accelerate wound closure process. Ethanolic extract of Lansium domesticum Corr. seed also showed low anti microbial activity.
Perspectives
Further studies are needed to isolate the active compound(s) responsible for wound healing process and more research is needed to develop the safety profile of that preparation.
