What is it about?

The psychoanalytic tradition takes a keen interest in the links between creativity, psychopathology and the process of change. The psychoanalytic process is often viewed as a distinctive creative act because one’s self-concept is revised and reconstructed through the joint exploration of hidden, unconscious meaning. Furthermore, both the change in latent mental structures and the creative endeavour are linked to the dialectic tension between striving for freedom and accepting the limitations raised by the reality of which we are part.
