What is it about?
By shattering traditional certainties in collective judgment, so-called conspiracy theories have successfully established themselves as media of perception, interpretation, and appropriation in literature, film, and series, on social platforms, in feature articles, and after-work debates. Their potential for political agitation, uncertainty and propaganda - often legitimizing violence - is worrying. The authors of this issue of 'psychosozial' present approaches to a critical socio-psychological and socio-theoretical elucidation of "thinking in conspiracies" that address its cognitive, practical, and socio-cultural dimensions from an interdisciplinary perspective.
