What is it about?

Change in Lymph flow are observed with a novel non pneumatic compression pump. Lymphatic transport in women with Lipedema was recorded using Indocyanine Green and a Near-Infrared (NIR) camera. The lymphatic vesels observed were dilated and tortuous in areas where lipedema was present but were normal in appearence where lipedema tissue was absent. The non pneumatic compression pump increased the lymph floe compared to baseline assesment.

Why is it important?

This study validates the function of the non pneumatic compression pump garment. This study shows the lymphatic abnormalities seen in lipedema legs.

Perspectives

The change in lymphatic vessels as they move from flowing through normal tissue to lipedema tissue is dramatic.
