What is it about?
Re-entry bodies experience very large heat loads. it is important to accurately predict the heat loads on thermal protection systems. The study focuses on the effects of thermal non-equilibrium and surface catalysis on the flow and heat transfer around the two re-entry cases.

Why is it important?
The current paper will help advance the systematic validation of the commercially available Ansys Fluent CFD code and its dedicated physical models in the hypersonic regime and thus provide a reliable, robust and readily-available numerical tool for the high-fidelity analysis of these flow fields.
