What is it about?
The goal of this paper is to use modern computer algorithms and machine learning (specifically natural language processing) to understand and extract information from air traffic management .pdf documents. This can then be used to create a digital copy of the documents which will make information distribution easier in an ever-growing national airspace system.

Why is it important?
Written documents have been used in air traffic management for as long as it has been around. With the introduction of higher demands and newer technology like unmanned aircraft, there needs to be better ways of distributing information, and digital standards set so that the information is consistent across systems.
