What is it about?

The objective of this paper is to describe the process of updating the longitudinal aerodynamic coefficients from aerodynamic model of the Flight Simulator using flight test data in order to establish a model in according with aviation rules.

Why is it important?

The aircraft modeling shall be used as a source of reliable inputs in order to guarantee precise analyses and simulation of other design technologies, such as Flight Dynamics, Flight Controls, Full Flight Simulator, other. Thus, the paper explains a way to perform a process called aerodynamic matching using flight test data.

Perspectives

Nowadays is difficult to find good guides to perform the aircraft flight simulation modeling based on flight test corrections in a appropriated way. The authors of this paper intend to cover this gap showing a way to perform the matching between the aircraft theoretical flight model and flight test results.
