What is it about?

Although slender bodies produce less drag, extreme heat flux created near the leading edge prevents the usage of pointed geometries for powered hypersonic vehicle. The objective of this study is to minimize drag without increasing the total heat transfer rate and the maximum values of the surface heat flux, temperature and pressure.
