What is it about?
Small vortex generators are effective passive control devices aiming at controlling the detrimental effects of the interaction between shock waves and boundary layers. In our study, we use direct numerical simulations of a turbulent boundary layer on a microramp to investigate the effect of the Mach number, showing that this affects relevantly the qualitative and quantitative organization of the flow.
