What is it about?
A filed inversion method is developed and applied to flows at low Reynolds number for enhancing the modelling of the laminar separation bubbles. The main goal is to find a field function that multiplies the production of the turbulent kinetic energy. This function has to ensure the boost of the turbulent kinetic energy necessary for the reattachment of the flow and for the correct pressure levels in the re-attached region. The SST k-w-g model is chosen as starting model because the intermittency function can provide information about flow transition.
