What is it about?
Shock-turbulence interactions exist extensively in aerospace systems. Though substantial studies are made on this topic, the discussion mostly concentrated on streamwise Reynolds stresses. We study the change of transverse components across the shock waves and identify the dominant mechanisms from budget analysis. Finally, a scaling that quantifies the amplifications of transverse stresses is suggested.
