What is it about?

Artificial intelligence (AI) has significantly applied with the rapid advancement of computational capabilities. These advanced techniques are currently employed for problems in diverse engineering fields. This paper provides a novel framework for designing and analyzing structures using machine learning (ML) algorithms. In particular, advanced deep convolutional neural networks widely used for image processing and feature recognition are applied to replace conventional structural analysis and optimization computations with the ML-based surrogate model.
