What is it about?
Mimicking the tubercles on humpback whales, we have optimised the shape of the leading-edge undulation of a NACA 65(12)-10 aerofoil, which increased the lift force and reduced the drag force in a wind tunnel test. The overall noise emitted from the aerofoil was also reduced at the same time.
