What is it about?

Strong unsteady propagation characteristics can degrade acoustic measurements conducted in aeroacoustic wind tunnels. An approximate acoustic point source is used to characterize the difference in these characteristics between open-jet and Kevlar-walled facilities. Mean properties such as the Kevlar transmission loss relative to the open-jet, along with the facility background noise spectra, are also considered.
