What is it about?
High speed planes and spacecraft are constrained by extreme aerodynamic heating. This paper explores how artifacts of high speed wind tunnel testing affect the actual fluid mechanics driving the heating. It is found that high speed wind tunnels result in higher heating on test models than they would experience in flight.
