What is it about?
A novel robust optimization of liners (acoustic treatments) of a 3D nacelle intake is proposed for minimizing the far-field acoustic pressure. A full 3D computational aeroacoustic model is used in presence of a non-homogeneous flow velocity field. Robustness is obtained by introducing a model of uncertainties that are induced by the modeling errors in the aeroacoustic and liner computational models, and in the fan acoustic excitation. The uncertainty levels are identified using experimental measurements. The optimization of the characteristics of the liners is performed using the identified stochastic computational aeroacoustic model.
