What is it about?
Control over the fluid flow becomes essential when one strives for the efficiency in aerospace vehicles and subsystems. Micro ramps are potentially optimal devices to achieve such control. The present study shows how changing their geometry changes the flow field in the supersonic turbulent boundary layer. With experimental calibration, the present study also allows predicting the influence of geometry on the micro ramp wake.
