What is it about?
Counter rotating open rotors have been proposed in the past as an efficient power plant that would one day replace conventional propulsion systems for aircraft. However, they are known to generate too much noise. In this paper we propose a number of novel concepts aimed at reducing noise of such propellers for general aviation.
