What is it about?
Delta-shaped wings are used as nacelle strakes to increase maximum lift of aircraft. A strake creates a streamwise vortex, which positively influences the high-lift flow. For an optimal design of the strakes, accurate simulations are required. Within this contribution, we show experimental (stereo-PIV) results of the vortex development downstream of a generic Delta-wing. Furthermore, we evaluate different numerical methods concerning their ability to accurately predict this vortex development.
