What is it about?
This work presents a framework and set of tools to perform realistic flight simulations and trajectory prediction for quad-copters in low altitude (<500m) atmospheric conditions. With the large body of literature on flight simulation of unmanned air vehicles, this work fills several important gaps - (i) detailed simulation of low altitude atmospheric boundary layer, (ii) appropriate fidelity (rather than highly simplified) real time representation of the vehicle aeromechanics, and (iii) integration with a control and flight simulation module. Further, the source code for use by the community has been shared publicly.
