What is it about?
Gas turbine combustors are expected to be tolerant to day to day variations of fuel constituency and to be robust to the triggering of structurally hazardous thermoacoustic instabilities. The current work shows that minor variations in the fuel interchangeability index, may affect significantly and unexpectedly the effective thermoacoustic dynamic state of the combustor.
