What is it about?

This paper introduces a new approach to improve the safety of super-maneuverable aircraft by preventing the aircraft from getting into upset situations from which it cannot recover. The new approach is demonstrated on the Innovative Control Effectors (ICE) aircraft model developed by Lockheed-Martin. We show that the new approach can significantly improve safety without degrading overall maneuvering performance.
