Flight Scheduling and Fleet Sizing for an Airport Shuttle Air Taxi Service

What is it about?

The development of Urban Air Mobility faces several important challenges including estimating the required fleet size to match supply to travel demand and assessing the impact of top-level aircraft requirements on the profitability of the operator. In this effort, we developed a framework to quantify the complex interactions among aircraft-level characteristics, operations, economics, infrastructure, and market demand. The result suggests that it is possible to have a viable business use-case in the Atlanta region for an airport shuttle air taxi service using eVTOL aircraft.
