What is it about?
In the Caribbean oceanic airspace, there are multiple regions with different technical air traffic control capabilities. We measure the operational benefits of enhanced surveillance along with better air traffic control integration among the air navigation service providers in the region through computer simulation. Our results show the benefits of reduced and harmonized separation minima in terms of increasing efficiency and airspace capacity, and decreasing the air traffic controllers’ taskload.
