What is it about?
Wind tunnel tests of powered aircraft turbofans are typically conducted with scaled engine units driven by a turbine fed with pressurised air. In the paper, we numerically evaluate the benefits of using electric-driven fans to represent more faithfully ultra-high bypass ratio propulsors in wind tunnel tests.
