What is it about?
A study on the tradeoffs between range, takeoff distance, and cruising speed for a short-takeoff electric aircraft. We find that a traditional aircraft with a retrofit distributed electric propulsion system for short takeoff may be an alternative to vertical takeoff for urban air transportation.
