What is it about?
Cusped field thrusters are a promising electric propulsion technology for small spacecraft platforms. Multi-objective design optimization is performed to investigate the key design parameters and performance characteristics, focusing on the magnetic field distributions. The influence of the design parameters on performance is also examined in statistical approaches to identify their optimal ranges to achieve successful downscaling of the propulsion system.
