What is it about?

The laminar to turbulent boundary layer transition in hypersonic speeds leads to dramatically increased heating loads. Conventional transition prediction schemes fail to take into account the response of the flow field to different levels of freestream noise. We apply high fidelity flow field response data to an updated amplitude method to attempt to improve on the accuracy of conventional transition prediciton.
