What is it about?

This paper proposes a suitable feedback control system for higher power density Shape memory alloy (SMA) actuators. We construct a physical model for SMA tube thermo mechanical coupling response that has suitable complexity for the real-time control system design by limited the application condition. Additionally, a reference trajectory generation and tracking are performed by using the model predictive control (MPC) method. The effectiveness of the proposed methods was verified by specific test piece system identification and control simulations performed both numerically and experimentally.
