Benefits of Traffic-Following in High-Density Autonomous Airspace Operations

What is it about?

In order to accommodate growing demand and improve safety, the airspace system is anticipated to increasingly include autonomous vehicles that interact and integrate collectively with other traffic within the same airspace. We propose the idea of aircraft following other traffic to create flows within a system. This is beneficial in terms of travel times, especially at high densities.
