What is it about?

Underground mining is dangerous work, and accidents or disasters create even more dangerous conditions for workers and rescuers. A network of durable environmental sensors will allow workers, rescuers, and robots to navigate around dangerous areas by detecting airborne hazards including high temperatures, poor air quality, and gas concentrations.
