What is it about?
Cyclonic flow separators used in vacuum cleaners, coal industries, liquid rocket engines, gas scrubbers, cyclone evaporators etc. There have been a lot of studies in understanding the fluid dynamics of the cyclone systems but there is very limited study done to understand the acoustical behavior of them. The amplitudes of noise generated by cyclone flow systems could be very high and understanding the source helps in reducing the noise. This study explains the source mechanism for a high tonal noise and controlling techniques through exhaust duct design changes.

Why is it important?
This study will give you the in depth understanding of the flow pattern, tonal noise generation mechanism & controlling design parameters. This study will help you to choose exhaust duct design parameters to avoid noise.
