What is it about?
Hypersonic flight faces challenges like heat and vibration due to shock waves. To address this technical challenge, we investigate using phononic metamaterials (PMs) as a passive flow control mechanism. Experimental results showcase the material's ability to reduce turbulent fluctuations, providing experimental evidence on applying phononic metamaterials for flow control in hypersonic flight.
