What is it about?

Both SST and its wall-distance-free (WDF) variant are developed for simple and complex heat transfer problems. A new eddy-viscosity bound and a variable turbulent Prandtl number formulation are included to accommodate better predictions for flows with separation and reattachment.

Why is it important?

No complicated heat flux modeling is needed. A simple gradient type modeling is sufficient to predict the heat transfer rate, reasonably.

Perspectives

It is my pleasure to mention that the heat transfer model can be adjusted with any turbulence model, using a slight modification. The simple gradient type heat flux modeling is made anisotropic.
