What is it about?
This study explores the relationships between student engagement and burnout in higher education. By examining different dimensions of engagement and burnout, the research aims to provide a more comprehensive understanding of how they are interconnected. The study involved 207 undergraduate students from British universities, and the results support the proposed conceptual framework. The findings suggest that cognitive engagement plays a role in enhancing emotional and behavioral engagement, exhaustion precedes cynicism, and burnout stems from a decline in emotional engagement.
