What is it about?

In this paper, the effect of scaling, a 2-D nonlinear manipulation on antenna characteristics in the multilayered scenario is presented. Seven iterations are performed on the parasitic patch to obtain the wide impedance bandwidth. A nonlinear replication on the fractal patch is performed for circular polarization and much wider IBW. Simulation results show that two bands with reflection coefficient below -10dB are obtained having IBW of 88% from 4-8.44 GHz and 8.5% from 9.46-10.3 GHz. The 3-dB axial-ratio bandwidth for both bands is 38.6% from 4.84-6.77 GHz and 4.6% from 9.55-10 GHz respectively. The proposed structure exhibits the dual-band performance with a maximum gain of 10.3 dB. The proposed antenna structure is more compact compared to antennas earlier reported in the literature working in C and X band.
