MGDR: The journal
All content in MGDR is peer reviewed and open access. The journal explores the intersections and interstices of markets, globalization and development from interdisciplinary lenses.
ISMD: Parent Organization of MGDR
Excerpt: "We are an international group of scholars who are interested in examining the inter-disciplinary interactions between markets and development. Since the foundation of ISMD the involved scholars have been devoted in not only economic development but a broad and critical view of development including well-being and quality of life. Similarly, for us markets are all inclusive and we particularly concentrate on the markets that have received less research attention. Globalization has put issues of development to the fore in contemporary society as developed and developing countries are interdependent and challenges facing global citizens are common, if exacerbated in various regions. Through collective study of key global challenges, ISMD aims to provide a way in which to share learning to inform new thinking in the field of markets and development."
ISMD history reviewed in MGDR
The first ISMD president, Ruby Roy Dholakia, reviews the key milestones in the history of ISMD, the parent organization that eventually spawned this journal, MGDR.
Development, Globalization... A Pace-setting Piece
In this same inaugural issue of MGDR, we also have the incisive perspective of A. Fuat FIRAT, the scholar who started the conferences that were precursor to ISMD, and who was also the 2nd ISMD president.
