Why is it important?

In response to the call for more precise delimitations between various concepts, the article differentiates social enterprise from social entrepreneurship. It discusses the key factors triggering hybridity of social innovation business models, and illustrate it by two case studies. The article concludes with a discussion of the key findings and their meaning for future social innovation research and practice. With this, we respond to the call for more research on social entrepreneurship to its context, emphasising the importance of institutional frames, multiple value propositions and resource scarcity.
