What is it about?
We conducted comprehensive investigation about what digital transformation really is and how it is managed in companies. We came to important results upon which we created a Digital Transformation Framework. Best practices examples and narratives can be also found in this compelling article.

Why is it important?
No similar and holistic investigation on this topic hasn't been conducted so far. On top of that, IS literature lacks with digital transformation frameworks. We define digital transformation framing, strongly supported by best business examples. It can be used in: maturity assessment; for hypothesis constructs; and for practitioners in establishing the efficient digital transformation building blocks in companies.
Perspectives
It is mind opening for me, as it observes digital transformation in holistic manner - as a system. All systems components have been covered, including new technologies and legacy IT systems, as well as management practices, human resources issues, and innovation management in ecosystems. I hope readers find it useful and that it encourages them for addressing the system and ecosystem interactions in their companies and further researches.
