What is it about?
The ability to deliver DNA/RNA to specific tissues or cells will improve our capacity to effectively treat many diseases for which medicines are currently not available. We have developed an exciting delivery system for DNA/RNA, which improves its delivery into cells that have a receptor called gastrin-releasing peptide receptor (GRPR) on their surface, such as a variety of important cancers. We envision that this system will have future utility for the delivery of therapeutic genes to humans and for veterinary applications, and that this approach will have less side effects than non-targeted approaches.
