What is it about?

In this review why tried to show the importance of antimicrobial peptides in ttuberculosis and its perspective for their use as therapy. Besides, we analyzed the known inducers of theses peptides such as vitamin D, phenyl butyrate, L-isoleucine and the experience of several authors to use them to induce AMPs in vivo and in vitro.

Why is it important?

Antimicrobial peptides are a promising alternative fas a future antibiotics, nevertheless their high production cost, make this possibility out of the reach of pharmaceutical developers, AMP-inducers are a potencial source to be used instead of recombinant or synthesized AMPs.

Perspectives

Th further study of SMPs-inducers is quite important.
