This article (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28775126) compares diagnostic tools for testing urinary acidification: ammonium chloride administration vs. the F&F test: furosemide and fludrocortisone. Although administration of NH4Cl may be the gold standard, it remains unclear if either test is necessary, and if diagnosing incomplete distal RTA has therapeutic significance.
