What is it about?

This manuscript investigates the role of donor derived cell free DNA as a biomarker of allograft integrity in pediatric kidney transplant recipients. We have shown that that donor derived cell free DNA is a reasonable noninvasive bio marker for allograft integrity.

Why is it important?

In this manuscript we examined donor derived cell free DNA longitudinally in pediatric kidney transplant recipients to understand the kinetics of the marker and its performance to identify acute rejection and BK infection.

Perspectives

I hope this article will lead to more prospective multicenter studies to investigate donor derived cell free DNA as a biomarker to assess organ integrity.
