Why is it important?

This research presents a novel application of Open Journal Systems (OJS), repurposing it from a tool for managing academic publications to an innovative educational instrument for developing thesis proposals. Conducted during the ongoing pandemic, this research addresses the urgent need for effective remote learning solutions. By leveraging OJS, students benefit from structured feedback, systematic knowledge transfer, and improved digital literacy, offering a timely solution that enhances academic writing skills and preparedness for future research endeavors. This approach provides a model for other institutions to adapt to similar challenges, potentially transforming remote education and scholarly communication.

Perspectives

This publication is an important step forward in educational technology, facing many challenges. As a researcher, I have seen how students struggle to develop their thesis proposals remotely. By repurposing Open Journal Systems (OJS), we have created a new way to support students' academic growth and digital literacy. This project shows how to use existing technology to meet new educational needs. It sets a good example for remote learning that can be used long-term.
