What is it about?
Hoslundia opposita is a tropical plant which is used traditionally for the treatment of many diseases. We have tried to present all the diseases for which this plant is used traditionally and the available scientific evidence supporting the folkloric claims. The plant has been used to manage diseases such as Malaria, HIV/AIDS, Diabetes, Cancer etc.

This work is important as some of the compounds responsible for the medicinal effect of the plant have been isolated. These can be further explored for drug development.
Perspectives
This article summarised all the diseases for which this plant has been employed traditionally. It is amazing to see a single plant being used for the management of not less than 30 diseases in different countries.
