What is it about?

Present intensifying forest fire incidents are becoming a major concern as they pose threats to the environment, economy and human’s safety. This paper aims to identify forest fire hotspots using advanced hotspot analysis in the Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and suggest appropriate preventive measures.

The approaches explained in this research paper can help local authorities identify and prioritize forest fire hotspots in their administrative areas, and determine suitable sites for new fire stations.

Perspectives

Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. This article also lead to the betterment of the environment, economy and human’s safety via forest conservation.
