What is it about?
Efflux pumps are key elements in the antibiotic resistance of several bacteria. We have shown the role of AcrAB and qepA efflux pumps in ciprofloxacin resistance in clinical Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates. Also, the isolates harbored the ciprofloxacin resistance gene.

Why is it important?
Our results showed that clinical Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates have different quinolone resistance mechanisms that can transfer them to other species.
Perspectives
Writing this article was a great pleasure as it has co-authors with whom I have had long standing collaborations. Also, this work extend my knowledge about the drug resistance mechanisms in my favorite bacteria Klebsiella pneumoniae.
