What is it about?
This work is an extensive search of genes from S. schenckii that could be virulence factors, we compared known virulence factor genes from other pathogenic fungi such as C. albicans, A. fumigatus and C. neoformans and made the search in the genome of S. schenckii.

Why is it important?
This work will help the community working with Sporothrix to identify posible genes involved in the virulence and pathogenicity of the fungus, and start working in the characterization of them that may lead to identify possible therapeutic targets.
