Why is it important?
We need new vaccines, and lipid-based adjuvants have proven to be extremely efficient at stimulating various types of immune responses including antibodies and cytotoxic lymphocytes. Further, when combined with peptide antigens, lipid-based adjuvants can be readily incorporated into the vaccine during the routine synthetic processes.
