What is it about?
Peripheral artery disease (PAD) affects more than 230 million adults worldwide. High blood pressure (hypertension) is a major risk factor for PAD. However, many people with both hypertension and PAD don't get the right treatment. Hence, it is important to understand the current literature in order to provide optimal treatment to these patients

Why is it important?
In this review, we aim to discuss how hypertension should be treated in people with PAD, including the current guidelines and scope for further research.
Perspectives
Through this article, we have aimed to compile all the current trials and guidelines that investigate the management of hypertension in patients with PAD. Since these patients are understudied, we hope to improve the current knowledge base among healthcare providers regarding the optimal management strategies in this cohort.
